Alexa Myta, PsyD
I am a licensed clinical psychologist in New York and Massachusetts, providing thoughtful, evidence-based care to adolescents, adults, and families navigating emotional, relational, and life challenges. My work is grounded in a practical, collaborative approach, with an emphasis on understanding patterns that shape daily life and relationships and supporting meaningful, sustainable change.

I earned my doctorate in Clinical Psychology from William James College and completed both predoctoral and postdoctoral fellowships across outpatient, inpatient, and integrated healthcare settings. Throughout my training and career, I have worked with children, adolescents, adults, and families across a broad range of clinical presentations, including mood and anxiety concerns, trauma, neurodevelopmental and cognitive differences, eating and substance use concerns, and complex relational patterns.

My approach is integrative and tailored to each client, drawing from cognitive-behavioral, dialectical, acceptance-based, motivational, and family systems frameworks. When helpful, I coordinate with medical providers, schools, and other supports to ensure comprehensive, coordinated care.

I take a respectful, direct, and engaged approach to therapy. Clients often describe my style as supportive but honest. Alongside validation and understanding, I help clients identify patterns, gain greater clarity, and examine behaviors or beliefs that may be keeping them stuck. The goal is not just insight, but helping clients make intentional changes that improve their daily lives and relationships.

In working with children, adolescents, and families, I collaborate closely with parents and caregivers to support development, strengthen communication, and create effective strategies for home and school. This work, like all of my clinical care, is a thoughtful, goal-oriented approach that helps clients gain clarity, build skills, and move toward lasting emotional and psychological well-being.
